Corel Photo-Paint is the well known image creation and photo editing application. This great Windows application recently made the jump to Linux version and is available as a free download. Does it match up to Photo-Paint for Windows? Or should Linux users stick with GIMP?

All said and done, SuSE is a very good distribution. Newbies will like it for its clean installation and its user-friendliness while more advanced users will enjoy tinkering with the huge amount of software made available. If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to grab this latest release. You will certainly change your mind.

Squid is a proxy caching server for HTTP/FTP requests. It caches data off the net on your local network. So the next time the same data is being accessed, whether it is html or a gif, it gets served up from the local server rather than over the Internet -- saving you significant bandwidth.

Getting on to the Internet meant working with chat scripts and debugging them when things went wrong. Not very newbie friendly. WvDial is easy to setup and a lot easier to use too.
